The Greville Theatre Club is an amateur drama group based in the North West corner of the county of Essex, England. We produce 2 major productions per year, each Spring and each Autumn, which we perform in the beautiful Barn Theatre in the village of Little Easton, just a few miles to the North of Great Dunmow.

Our Next Production

Our next production will be "Educating Rita" by Willy Russell.  This will take place at the Barn Theatre, Little Easton from 5th to 14th November 2009. 

This play of only two characters is set in a room of a university in the north of England.  Frank is a tutor of English whose disillusioned outlook on life drives him to seek refuge in bottles of whisky he hides on his bookshelves.  Rita is a forthright, young hairdresser who is hungry to find some meaning to life and "know everything".  With Frank as her tutor, Rita embarks on an Open University course and her education process begins.  The effects are both amusing and serious when her fresh, intuitive approach becomes clouded and stifled, as she grapples with the problem of a formal education geared to the passing of exams.

We are looking for new members!

We are a very friendly but committed group with a large and loyal following; we take our work seriously but it's always fun too!  We urgently need more people to join us - to act, work backstage, sew, paint, hammer, prepare food and generally help us continue providing excellent entertainment in this fine old theatre.
