Superachiever
Daisy Meredith wins a scholarship to Grangewood
School for Young Ladies, the first girl from a poor
background to be admitted to the school for reasons
of ability alone. She soon undergoes a a number of
tribulations caused mainly by the snobbish non-acceptance
of her peers, resulting in our heroine almost getting
expelled.
As
the title suggests, it all comes right for our plucky heroine, being "honourable and straight in all
things", with Daisy saving the lives of sneaky
Monica and toady Sybil, her chief tormenters,
discovering the long lost treasure of Grangewood and
discovering that the gardener is, in fact, not only
her thought-dead father, but also, by a twist of
fate, the rightful owner of Grangewood School.
